What A Night

What a beautiful last hour of work this morning; I'm listening to the gospels (94.5fm), and preparing to shut down for the night shift at a foster home facility. I'm going home to sleep
and spend the day with my family - daughter, son-n-law and grandson. We have the best ol' times.

Let me tell you something that happened to me last week at work. I was cooking a food item
in the microwave oven, waiting for the buzzer to sound; it's taking a long time. I finally go up to the kitchen to see what's up; smoke billowing. I kept saying to myself; I'm surprised this has not tripped the fire alarm. Oh, God, help me to get all this smoke out of here before it does.

Well, no such blessing that night. The alarm went off; called everyone listed, but the Fire Department arrived at about the same time someone was calling to tell me how to disarm the alarm.

Anyway, I hear that it is going to cost the company a whhopping $250, and I'm wondering what they are going to say to me. One of the guys from the Fire Department said, just be glad that it wasn't any worse than it was. So, I guess that was my blessing for the night; it could have burned the kitchen up and much more the building down.

I've never had anything as serious as this happen to me at work. Anybody else had anything serious happen at work?
